Mod Nashville Women’s Network & Social Organization to Launch

First ModSocial Event to be Hosted at Refinery Nashville on January, 28, 2015

Nashville, TN, January 20, 2015 – Mod Nashville, a new social organization and women’s network that fosters professional and personal networking opportunities will host its first event at Refinery Nashville on Wednesday, January 28, 2015. Created by two recent Nashville-transplants, Kirsty Hughan and Suki Mulberg Altamirano, Mod is designed to foster peer support, mentorship and motivation that empowers individuals to achieve their goals. Mod is free to join, welcoming of all, and not a support group but an active way of life. Short for modernist, modification and modulation, Mod strives to take a bold look at redefining what a modern women’s network looks like.

Mod Nashville will host a variety of events throughout the year including monthly ModSocials, which provide a relaxed atmosphere for networking, sharing knowledge, experiences, successes and ideas. Quarterly, Mod will host ModBashes, which connect members, native Nashvillians and those new to Nashville for an evening of mingling.

“When you make a big alteration to your life, whether a move or career change, you immediately seek out support and it was in moving to Nashville that the need for Mod became apparent to me,” said Kirsty Hughan, founder of Seamless Marketing. “But speaking with Suki and other Nashvillian women it is clear that it is not only changes that make us want support, we need support from our community every day, and I am so excited to help provide that.”

“As transplants to Nashville, Kirsty and I saw an inspiring opportunity to create a close-knit networking group that would foster friendship, support, introductions and mentorship that live beyond Mod’s events, becoming a part of our daily life,” said Suki Mulberg Altamirano, founder of Lexington PR.

The first ModSocial will be hosted at Refinery Nashville, part of a global network of collaborative spaces where entrepreneurs and social innovators come together to connect, work and thrive.

“We are pleased to have Refinery Nashville be a part of Mod’s launch. Our mission to build a meaningful space to grow your local and global network aligns with Mod’s vision to foster peer support, mentorship and lasting connections,” said Trevor Burbank, Executive Director of Refinery Nashville.
